Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
- Whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just moistened.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking sheet, making sure to space them apart.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar and let them sit for a few minutes to macerate.
- Once the biscuits are cooked, split them in half, layer with strawberries, and top with whipped cream if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
