Description

A delightful appetizer combining fresh strawberries and creamy ricotta on crispy baguette slices, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
  • Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 6-8 minutes until golden and crisp.
  4. Allow them to cool slightly afterward.
  5. Mix ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and honey until smooth.
  6. Wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces.
  7. Spread the ricotta mixture over each baguette slice.
  8. Top with strawberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but note the bread may lose its crispness.
