Delicious and chewy bars made with rolled oats and sweet strawberry jam, perfect for a snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup strawberry jam
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, baking soda, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until crumbly.
- Press half of the oat mixture firmly into the bottom of the greased pan to form a crust.
- Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the crust.
- Crumble the remaining oat mixture on top of the jam layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or frozen for longer storage. You can also experiment with different fruit jams.
