Description

Juicy chicken burgers with zesty jalapeños and creamy Pepper Jack cheese for a perfect summer meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Pepper Jack cheese, sliced
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns (brioche recommended)
  • Lettuce and tomato slices for topping

Instructions

  1. Chop the jalapeños and add them to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Combine the ground chicken with the jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into four equal patties, about 1-inch thick.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat or preheat your grill. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Pepper Jack cheese on each patty and toast the burger buns.
  6. Assemble the burgers with the patties, lettuce, tomato slices, and any extra toppings you desire.

Notes

For a milder heat, remove the seeds from the jalapeños. Substitute with different cheeses like sharp cheddar for variety.
