Description

A refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of ladyfingers soaked in lemon syrup and creamy mascarpone cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 package (200–250g) ladyfinger cookies (Savoiardi)
  • Extra lemon zest or candied lemon slices for garnish


Instructions

  1. Combine the lemon juice, water, and granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Stir until dissolved and let cool.
  2. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl until soft peaks form.
  3. Beat the mascarpone cheese and lemon zest in a separate bowl until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until incorporated.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger into the lemon syrup quickly and arrange in your desired dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers and repeat layering.
  5. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4–6 hours, allowing flavors to develop.
  6. Garnish with extra lemon zest or candied lemon slices before serving.
