Description

This sticky, savory-sweet skillet chicken features a honey-soy-garlic glaze that clings to juicy chicken thighs, perfect for a comforting weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  4. Place the thighs skin-side down in the skillet and cook until the skin is golden, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Flip the thighs and brown the other side for another 5–7 minutes.
  6. Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken and reduce the heat to medium-low.
  7. Simmer uncovered until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, about 8–12 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let the thighs rest for 3–5 minutes, garnishing with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, use tamari. For lower sugar, substitute honey with no-sugar-apricot jam.
