Description

Classic fudgy brownies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine melted butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl, and beat until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mix, stirring until fully combined.
  4. Whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Don’t overmix!
  6. If you’re using chocolate chips, gently fold them in now.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, smoothing it out evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares.

Notes

For added richness, use high-quality cocoa powder. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat.
