Classic fudgy brownies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Combine melted butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl, and beat until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mix, stirring until fully combined.
- Whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- If you’re using chocolate chips, gently fold them in now.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, smoothing it out evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For added richness, use high-quality cocoa powder. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat.
