Description

A creamy, garlicky, and silky chicken dish cooked in a delicious Parmesan cream sauce, served over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and black pepper. If uneven, place them between plastic wrap and gently pound to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and butter until the butter foams.
  3. Sear the chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and an instant-read thermometer reads 155–160°F. Transfer the chicken to a plate and tent with foil.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add minced garlic and sauté 20–30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up the browned bits to deglaze. Let simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning, bringing to a gentle simmer.
  7. Remove from heat and whisk in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan until smooth.
  8. Return the seared chicken to the skillet, spoon over sauce, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan.
  9. Cover and cook on low for 1–2 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F.
  10. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Best served with buttered noodles, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables. For storage, refrigerate up to 3–4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
