A savory and silky Chicken Marsala dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich mushroom and Marsala wine sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6–8 oz each)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup dry Marsala wine
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken until golden brown on both sides, then remove and set aside.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté until mushrooms are soft.
- Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits.
- Stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet.
- Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, pasta, or polenta.
