Description

A delicious and nutritious make-ahead breakfast combining hearty rolled oats with ripe bananas and brown sugar, ready to eat in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 3-4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup mashed banana (about 2 ripe bananas)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups milk (or a dairy-free alternative)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, chia seeds, brown sugar, mashed bananas, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract.
  2. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring until you achieve a smooth, well-combined mixture. Make sure the oats are fully coated.
  3. Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but letting it sit overnight yields the best results.
  5. Serve by scooping out a portion and adding your favorite toppings.

Notes

You can customize the sweetness by adjusting the brown sugar and substitute the milk with your favorite non-dairy milk for a dairy-free version.
