Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn tortillas
  • Diced onion
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Fresh lime wedges


Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Add the steak to the marinade, ensuring it’s well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to several hours).
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side depending on your desired doneness.
  4. Once grilled, let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  5. Warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet until they become pliable.
  6. Assemble your tacos by placing slices of steak in each tortilla and topping them with diced onion, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Serve immediately.

Notes

For optimal flavor, marinate the steak for several hours or overnight. Slice against the grain for tender pieces.
