Delicious and authentic street tacos made with marinated grilled beef, topped with fresh onion and cilantro.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Corn tortillas
- Diced onion
- Chopped cilantro
- Fresh lime wedges
Instructions
- Combine olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl to create a flavorful marinade.
- Add the steak to the marinade, ensuring it’s well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to several hours).
- Preheat your grill to high heat. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side depending on your desired doneness.
- Once grilled, let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet until they become pliable.
- Assemble your tacos by placing slices of steak in each tortilla and topping them with diced onion, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Serve immediately.
Notes
For optimal flavor, marinate the steak for several hours or overnight. Slice against the grain for tender pieces.
