Ingredients
- 2 pounds frozen french fries
- 8 ounces ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the fry package instructions. Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake fries until golden and crispy following package timing, flipping halfway through for extra crispness.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook until fully browned.
- Drain excess grease and return the skillet to low heat. Season the beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Transfer baked fries to an oven-safe dish. Spoon cooked beef over them and sprinkle with shredded cheddar.
- Return to the oven for 3–6 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Remove from oven. Add sour cream and sprinkle chives. Serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using plant-based crumbles or adding ingredients like smoked paprika or pickled jalapeños.
