Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 34 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until well-incorporated.
  5. Stir in the mashed bananas until fully blended.
  6. Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Add the chocolate chips, reserving a handful for topping if desired.
  8. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the bread cool slightly in the pan, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
