Description
Soft, pillowy Hawaiian rolls transformed into cheesy, savory pizza sliders, perfect for game days and quick dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 package soft Hawaiian rolls (12 count)
- 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1½–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pepperoni or other pizza toppings: bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, cooked sausage, etc.
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning (or a pinch each of dried oregano and basil)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally so you have a top layer and a bottom layer. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish, keeping them snug together.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bottom halves (about 1 tablespoon per roll).
- Sprinkle mozzarella over the sauce, then add your chosen toppings in an even layer.
- Place the top halves of the rolls back on the toppings and press gently.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden brown.
- Let the sliders rest for 2–3 minutes, slice between rolls, and serve warm.
Notes
Try swapping Hawaiian rolls for dinner rolls or slider buns for less sweetness. For extra flavor, brush with butter before and after baking.
