Description
Soft Hawaiian rolls stuffed with melted cheese and pepperoni, topped with a buttery glaze, perfect for game nights and potlucks.
Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup pizza sauce
- Sliced provolone cheese (6–8 slices)
- 20–30 pepperoni slices
- 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and position a rack in the center.
- Without separating them, slice Hawaiian rolls horizontally in the middle to create a top and bottom slab.
- Spread a layer of pizza sauce on the bottom halves of the rolls.
- Place provolone slices over the sauce to cover it completely.
- Add a layer of pepperoni slices over the cheese.
- Place the top halves of the rolls back on.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan, stir in brown sugar, oregano, and garlic powder until combined.
- Brush the glaze evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and tops are golden brown. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for 2–3 minutes, then slice between the rolls to separate.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For lighter options, use low-fat cheese or turkey pepperoni. Gluten-free buns can be used, but baking time may vary.
