Description

Soft Hawaiian rolls stuffed with melted cheese and pepperoni, topped with a buttery glaze, perfect for game nights and potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • Sliced provolone cheese (6–8 slices)
  • 2030 pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and position a rack in the center.
  2. Without separating them, slice Hawaiian rolls horizontally in the middle to create a top and bottom slab.
  3. Spread a layer of pizza sauce on the bottom halves of the rolls.
  4. Place provolone slices over the sauce to cover it completely.
  5. Add a layer of pepperoni slices over the cheese.
  6. Place the top halves of the rolls back on.
  7. Melt butter in a small saucepan, stir in brown sugar, oregano, and garlic powder until combined.
  8. Brush the glaze evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  9. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and tops are golden brown. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  10. Remove from the oven, let rest for 2–3 minutes, then slice between the rolls to separate.
  11. Serve warm.

Notes

For lighter options, use low-fat cheese or turkey pepperoni. Gluten-free buns can be used, but baking time may vary.
