Juicy, sticky, and impossibly simple oven-roasted BBQ chicken that delivers classic BBQ flavor without the grill.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5–2 lbs total)
- Your favorite BBQ sauce (about 3/4 to 1 cup total)
- Salt (1/2 to 1 teaspoon, adjust to taste)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Garlic powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Paprika (1/2 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and position a rack in the center.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- Rub both sides of each breast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Place the seasoned breasts in a lightly oiled baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
- Remove the dish and brush each breast generously with BBQ sauce.
- Return to the oven and bake for 20 more minutes.
- Add another layer of BBQ sauce to each breast.
- Bake a final 10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is sticky and glossy.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.
Notes
Pound thicker parts of the breasts to ensure uniform cooking. Use a thermometer to check doneness.
