Description

A delicious and moist banana bread with a rich flavor, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sour cream, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, baking powder, salt, and flour.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix!
  5. If using nuts, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans at this stage.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas and do not overmix the batter.
