Description

A quick and easy weeknight dish featuring bite-sized chicken in a sticky honey-garlic sauce, ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the sauce: In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Heat the pan: Warm 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Season the chicken: Pat chicken pieces dry, then season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Brown the chicken: Add chicken to the skillet and cook without moving for 2–3 minutes, then stir and cook for another 2–4 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Add the sauce: Pour the sauce over the chicken and simmer gently for 1–3 minutes, stirring, until glossy.
  6. Finish and serve: Adjust seasoning, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve with lime over rice, noodles, or vegetables.

Notes

For gluten-free, replace soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. To adapt for low-and-slow cooking, try a slow cooker version.
