Description

This honeyed, garlicky shrimp comes together in about 10 minutes and tastes like a takeout favorite — only fresher and higher in protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Steamed rice or vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Warm a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil.
  3. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and add to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes until edges turn pink, then flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  4. Pour the honey-garlic mixture over the shrimp. Toss to coat and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce is syrupy and the shrimp are opaque.
  5. Remove from heat and serve over steamed rice or vegetables, spooning extra glaze over the top.

Notes

For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. Swap honey for maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
