Description
Warm, gooey cheese tucked between soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls, these ham and cheese sliders are easy to make and perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 12 sweet Hawaiian rolls
- 12 slices deli ham or leftover baked ham
- 12 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the whole sheet intact. Place the bottom half into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer the ham evenly over the rolls and top with cheese slices.
- Place the top half of the rolls back over the cheese.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, poppy seeds, Dijon mustard, and onion powder until smooth.
- Brush the buttery mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
- Let the sliders rest for 2–3 minutes, slice between the rolls, and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter top, swap half the butter for olive oil. Ensure pre-cooked ham reaches an internal temperature of 165°F when reheated.
