Description

Warm, gooey cheese tucked between soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls, these ham and cheese sliders are easy to make and perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices deli ham or leftover baked ham
  • 12 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the whole sheet intact. Place the bottom half into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the rolls and top with cheese slices.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls back over the cheese.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, poppy seeds, Dijon mustard, and onion powder until smooth.
  6. Brush the buttery mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
  8. Let the sliders rest for 2–3 minutes, slice between the rolls, and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter top, swap half the butter for olive oil. Ensure pre-cooked ham reaches an internal temperature of 165°F when reheated.
