Description

Warm, pillowy Hawaiian rolls stuffed with savory ham and melty Swiss, topped with a buttery poppy-seed Dijon glaze.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices deli ham (about 812 oz total)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in one smooth motion so the tops stay connected. Place the bottom half in the prepared dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly across the bottom halves. Cover ham with the Swiss slices.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth.
  5. Pour or brush the butter mixture evenly over the assembled ham and cheese.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the buttered layer. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
  7. Bake covered for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the sliders rest for 2–3 minutes, then slice between the rolls and serve warm.

Notes

Use Gruyère or provolone for different flavor profiles. If poppy seeds are unavailable, sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning are good alternatives.
