Description

A moist and decadent chocolate banana bread that’s gluten-free and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 cup gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter until well blended.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, baking soda, and a pinch of salt until everything is incorporated.
  4. Gradually mix in the gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, and sugar until just combined; be careful not to overmix!
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow cooling in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and texture. Avoid overmixing the batter for a fluffy bread.
