Description

These comforting garlic parmesan meatballs are quick to prepare and perfect for weeknight meals. Tender and cheesy, they pair well with pasta or as party bites.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly oil a baking dish large enough to hold the meatballs in a single layer.
  2. Combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper in a large bowl. Mix just until blended.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs, about 20–24. Wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs to the prepared baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
  6. Bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes, checking internal temperature (160–165°F for beef, 165°F for turkey).
  7. Let the meatballs rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, use GF breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers. Substitute yogurt or a flax-egg if you don’t have eggs.
