Description

A sticky, crisp-skinned salmon glazed in honey and garlicky soy, this easy skillet recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on), about 6 oz each
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse salmon under cold water and pat thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic until combined. Set half aside for finishing.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down. Press gently with a spatula for 10 seconds to ensure full contact. Cook about 4 minutes, undisturbed, until the skin is golden brown.
  5. Flip the fillets and brush with half of the glaze. Cook 3–4 more minutes, spooning some pan juices and glaze over the tops until cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F.
  6. Remove salmon to a plate. Drizzle the remaining glaze over the fillets and let rest for 1–2 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.

Notes

For less sweetness, reduce honey to 3 tablespoons and add 1 teaspoon rice vinegar. Use a cast-iron skillet for a crispier glaze.
