Ingredients
- Sturdy bread (sourdough, whole grain, or bagels)
- Tomato sauce (plain marinara or pizza sauce)
- Cottage cheese (small or large curds)
- Shredded melting cheese (mozzarella, provolone, or Mexican blend)
- Italian seasoning (oregano, basil blend)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange bread slices in a single layer and spread a generous layer of tomato sauce over each slice.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese onto each sauced slice and spread or leave as dollops.
- Sprinkle shredded melting cheese over the cottage cheese; season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Place slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove carefully and let cool for a minute before serving warm.
Notes
For a crispy texture, consider toasting the bread lightly first. Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.
