Description

A fast, restaurant-quality salmon with a caramelized honey-garlic finish and a crisp skin, ready in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on), about 6 oz each
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it shimmer.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and press gently for 10 seconds to ensure full contact. Cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes until the skin is deep golden and crisp.
  5. Flip the fillets and reduce heat to medium. Pour the honey-garlic glaze into the pan around the fish. Spoon some glaze over each fillet and cook for 1–2 more minutes until the salmon reaches your preferred doneness.
  6. Transfer to plates, spoon any thickened glaze from the pan over the tops, and scatter chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

If your honey is very thick, warm it briefly to make it easier to mix. Use low-sodium soy sauce to prevent the glaze from becoming overly salty.
