Description

A colorful and zesty pasta dish featuring shrimp seasoned with jerk spice, enveloped in a rich creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp jerk seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp coated with jerk seasoning. Sauté until shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  4. Pour broth and heavy cream into the pan; stir and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to combine and heat through.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with cilantro or parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate shrimp in jerk seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking. Feel free to add additional veggies like zucchini or spinach.
