Description
A rich, creamy bisque filled with crab and shrimp, perfect for chilly evenings or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces crab meat
- 8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for about a minute to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the seafood stock and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the heavy cream, then add the crab meat and shrimp.
- Sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Allow the bisque to simmer for 10-15 minutes until heated through and the shrimp are opaque.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
Use fresh seafood for superior flavor. You can add a splash of white wine while simmering to enhance the taste.
