Description

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for the swirl)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  5. Incorporate the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
  6. Gently mix in the flour until just incorporated; avoid overmixing.
  7. In a small bowl, blend the ground cinnamon with 1/4 cup of sugar.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Layer the remaining batter on top, finishing with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
  10. Use a knife to gently swirl the batter.
  11. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating nuts or chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze individual slices for longer storage.
