Description

These chewy banana oatmeal cookies are a delicious treat made with ripe bananas and wholesome oats, perfect for quick snacks or breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose or whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until everything is well combined.
  3. If you’d like, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor and texture.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there’s space between each.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
  6. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
