A delightful comfort-food casserole featuring crispy tater tots, creamy ranch-coated shredded chicken, and melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- 3 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, ranch dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the chicken mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until the tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
For extra crispness, par-bake the tater tots separately for 5–8 minutes before arranging them on top. Use warm shredded chicken for better mixing.
