Description
A delightful fusion dish combining creamy stroganoff flavors with the bold kick of blackened shrimp.
Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine or egg noodles
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the fettuccine or egg noodles according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning until they’re evenly coated.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are nicely blackened and cooked through. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they’re soft.
- Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and mix until heated through.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and add the cooked pasta. Toss everything together and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a lighter option, consider swapping the heavy cream and feel free to add vegetables of your choice.
