A crunchy, saucy take on a weeknight classic, these air fryer bang bang chicken bites are coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce, perfect for busy evenings or game-day dipping.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or unsweetened plant milk)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or light brush of oil
Instructions
- Make the bang bang sauce: In a medium bowl whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha until smooth. Set aside.
- Prep the dredging station: Pour milk into a shallow bowl and place breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
- Coat the chicken: Dip each chicken piece into the milk, letting excess drip off, then roll in breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer: Heat to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes and spray the basket lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry the chicken: Arrange chicken in a single layer and cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Sauce and serve: Toss hot chicken in the prepared sauce until evenly coated and serve immediately.
Notes
For gluten-free, use gluten-free panko. Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 3–4 days.
