Description

Simple and tender butter cookies made with just three ingredients for a melt-in-your-mouth treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy (2–3 minutes with an electric mixer).
  3. Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Scoop tablespoons of dough and form them into balls, spacing them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  5. Flatten each ball slightly and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are light golden.
  6. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use real butter for best flavor and texture. If you find the dough too soft, chill briefly before scooping.
